Safeguarding 8 to 3

Tumble out of bed                                               Tumble out of bed

And stumble to the kitchen                                  And have a fumble in the kitchen
Pour myself a cup of ambition                             Pour themselves a cup of tradition

And yawn and stretch and try to come to life     Yawn & stretch and hope their kids make

                                                                             them rich

Jump in the shower                                           Have sex in the shower
And the blood starts pumpin'                             And the blood starts pumpin
Out on the streets, the traffic starts jumpin'      Out in the fields the farmers start humpin

For folks like me on the job from 9 to 5             Fine for folks like them on the job from 8 to 3

Workin' 9 to 5                                                      Safeguarding 8 to 3
What a way to make a livin'                                 What a way to care for children
Barely gettin' by                                                    Barely worth a jot
It's all takin' and no givin'                                      It’s all boxtickin and no thinkin

They just use your mind                                       If you use your mind
And they never give you credit                             They’ll never give you credit
It's enough to drive you                                         It’s enough to drive you

Crazy if you let it                                                    Crazy if you let it

More than 3 million adults in England and Wales were victims of child sexual abuse, new figures show, prompting fresh concerns about under-reporting of the issue among children today.

Data published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows around one in 13 adults aged 18 to 74 years – 2.4 million women and 709,000 men – were victims of sexual abuse before the age of 16

Have I Got News For You: Anger at joke about killing 200,000 Corbyn supporters at Glastonbury

Last night Team captains Paul Merton and Ian Hislop were joined by guest host Victoria Coren Mitchell and panellists Labour peer Joan Bakewell and comedian Fin Taylor on Have I Got New For You. The long running topical comedy panel show.

During the show Taylor made a joke about Corbyn supporters. He said that like Bob Dylan, he doesn’t like Corbyn because of the his fans. He then went on to say there are only 200,000 Corbyn fanatics. The best way to get rid of them would be to bomb Glastonbury next year, and hope Dylan is playing. This would be ‘two birds with on stone.’
