An evening of shear joy with Ray Mears - spiritual, educational, self affirming and inspirational. Had glassy eyes most of the night after his shakespearianesque first 15 minutes on how humans were introduced to fire by The Thunderbird (a very convincing folklore story). Followed by fire starting demonstrations, his love of tribes, knowledge, truth etc and his 'hate' of sensationalism (#posttruth) and peoples lack of respect for nature (including Steve Irwin). Felt like i'd died and gone to heaven, met my maker and he'd confirmed I'd done everything he'd asked of me 😊 Or as he says I don't care if people don't like what I say or do especially on Aboriginie etc rights, I report truth so they themselves are happy with what I've broadcast, I don't care what you think! #Legend

JK Rowlings endorsement of the Bana Project is a completely different matter, as she is underwriting a fraud, perhaps the most blatantly fake of a number of propaganda projects designed to engender support for the UK-supported war on Syria, is bizarre.  She is also an accomplice, if unwitting, to child exploitation and abuse (see The Crucifixion of Bana Alabed).

Spain’s rich Catalan region has erupted in violence. After a much-disputed referendum on independence where less than 40 percent of the Spanish region’s inhabitants voted, Catalan’s local government has said it will declare independence this week. Many on the left support Catalan independence. In fact, they claim that those who oppose it  are Francoists and fascists.

Communists understand fascism to be rule by the dictatorship of  financial oligarchy and it is in such a context that one must view events in Spain in terms of the class alliances behind the independence movement. In order to see whether the Catalan independence movement represents the interests of  labour or capital, we need to place Catalan nationalism in the context of  capitalism’s global power configuration.
