Never trust a society that allows their words to mean the opposite; #literally!

Literally mental how 'our' media can report the truth occasionally but mostly have to stick to scripts 'our' nonse loving neocon governments provide them! The words Newspeak, Doublethink, Doublespeak and Cognitive Dissonance spring to mind!

'They've' even managed to change the word literally to also mean metaphorically http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23729570 WTF!

Vladimir Putin’s 'unacceptable’ action in Ukraine was predictable and provoked

Nato leaders don’t know what to do about Mr Putin and the civil war in Ukraine, and have been misreading this crisis since it began

There was never any way that either Mr Putin or all those Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine and Crimea were going to take kindly to seeing the country which was the cradle of Russian identity become part of a Western power bloc. Photo: AFP

It is always revealing when politicians tell us that something is “unacceptable”. What they mean is that, although people might expect them to do something about it, they haven’t got a clue what it is they can do. That was why, as the Western leaders gathered for that Nato summit in Wales, several, including David Cameron, told us that President Putin’s intervention in Ukraine was “unacceptable”.
The real problem here is not just that our leaders don’t know what they can do about Mr Putin and that horrible civil war in Ukraine, which has already killed nearly 3,000 people and which the Russians seem to be winning hands down. It is that they and many others in the West have been misreading this crisis ever since it began at the start of the year.
It cannot be said often enough that what triggered the crisis was not Mr Putin’s desire to restore the boundaries of the Soviet Union, but the ludicrously misguided ambition of the West to see Ukraine absorbed into the EU and Nato. There was never any way that either Mr Putin or all those Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine and Crimea were going to take kindly to seeing the country which was the cradle of Russian identity become part of a Western power bloc. Russia would be even less happy to see the only warm-water ports for its navy taken over by a military alliance that had been set up to counter Russia in the first place.
When 96 per cent of Crimeans democratically voted in March to join Russia, this was not, as Western politicians now tell us, because Mr Putin wanted to “annexe” their country. It was because the 82 per cent of them who speak Russian as their main language wanted to rejoin a country Crimea had been part of for two centuries.
Yet, at the very same time, the democratically elected government of Ukraine was being toppled by mobs of demonstrators in the streets of Kiev, many of whom were being paid from Brussels funds to shout “Europe, Europe” at Baroness Ashton, as she urged them to sign that “association agreement” which was the last step but one to Ukraine becoming a full member state of the EU.

Putin's Russia

Ivana
+7
Results of Putin'2 12 years:
- Gold reserves increased 48 times - GDP increased 12 times - Nationalized 65% and 95% gas companies (this hurts most haters doesn't it?) - Increased the salaries 14 times - Reduce the mortality rate from 1.5 million to 21000 in 2011, decrease of 71 times
(M. Thatcher would not be happy)
- Public debt 1.3% GDP States: $xx.xxx trillion debt gone from 33% GDP in 1980. to 80% in 2009... Strange how some people here cannot sort out basic facts

Western Doublethink on Blind Path to War  : Information Clearing House - ICH

By Finian Cunningham
September 04, 2014 "ICH" - "SCF" -   In October 1962, the United States threatened to go to war with Russia over the Cuban missile crisis. That high-stakes drama came about after Washington learned that Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev had overseen the installation of ballistic missiles on the Caribbean island, some 90 miles from the US mainland. Never mind that the nascent military alliance between Moscow and the socialist government of Fidel Castro was a inviolable matter between two sovereign states – Washington was apoplectic that Soviet missiles were permitted anywhere near its territory. The then US President John F Kennedy was impelled to go to war over the issue, even if that meant igniting an all-out thermonuclear conflagration.

BBC have to close comments on NATO summit due to overwhelming support for Russia

The biased BBC editor then picks a selection  of comments with the most anti-russian comment first, despite it only getting 19 likes!
Then chooses some of the dumbest comments, including one that appears to think "Russia supports the coup in Ukraine" and "its naive to believe the west are to blame for the war".
All this in spite of the USA openly funding and supporting the illegal government that the referendums in Crimea, and Eastern Ukraine proved 90%+ of those respective populations didn't want and so sought independence from Kiev!
Propaganda by Western media and governments then went in to overdrive and they got labelled pro-russian separatist regions and fighters, rather than anti-Kiev!

Russia has lost it's respect and trust in the world. It will take decades to get it back, the cost to it is enormous. What on earth do they think that they are doing.

Job security in the current world of journalism is quite shaky, and going against the tide would be almost akin to siding with the devil, as it would damage one’s journalistic ‘credibility’.

Karel, has made an excellent case for the ongoing tragedy to stop and for Europeans to reflect and push back the war that is being put on them. Will Europe awaken from its slumber?

NATO breaks the Global Security accord with Russia by announcing a pay as you go mobile Phoney War plan - mirroring what happened 7 months and 4 days before WWII.

NATO Founding Act

on Mutual Relations, Cooperation and Security between NATO and the Russian Federation signed in Paris, France

Which States:

"In addition, in the negotiations on the adaptation of the CFE Treaty, the member States of NATO and Russia will, together with other States Parties, seek to strengthen stability by further developing measures to prevent any potentially threatening build-up of conventional forces in agreed regions of Europe, to include Central and Eastern Europe."

An agreement now broken with the following excuse:

Nato announced its plans on Monday for a rapid response force of several thousand troops to protect eastern European members against possible Russian aggression.
The force, to be made up of troops provided by member states on a rotating basis, would be able to be deployed within 48 hours, Nato secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen said.
Military equipment and supplies would be pre-positioned in member states in the east so the force could "travel light, but strike hard if needed", he added.
Mr Rasmussen insisted that the plans would not breach the 1997 Nato-Russia Founding Act, which forbids the presence of permanent bases in eastern and central Europe.
The Phoney War was a phase early in World War II that was marked by a lack of major military operations by the Western Allies(the United Kingdom and France) against the German Reich. The phase covered the months following Britain's and France's declaration of war on Germany (shortly after the invasion of Poland) in September 1939 and preceding the Battle of France in May 1940. War was declared by each side, but no Western power had committed to launching a significant land offensive, notwithstanding the terms of the Anglo-Polish and Franco-Polish military alliances which obliged the United Kingdom and Franceto assist Poland.
