The biased BBC editor then picks a selection of comments with the most anti-russian comment first, despite it only getting 19 likes!
Then chooses some of the dumbest comments, including one that appears to think "Russia supports the coup in Ukraine" and "its naive to believe the west are to blame for the war".
All this in spite of the USA openly funding and supporting the illegal government that the referendums in Crimea, and Eastern Ukraine proved 90%+ of those respective populations didn't want and so sought independence from Kiev!
Propaganda by Western media and governments then went in to overdrive and they got labelled pro-russian separatist regions and fighters, rather than anti-Kiev!

9 HOURS AGOLets not forget the fact that this entire Ukranian situation was kicked off by our Western nations effectively supporting a minority coup of the democratically elected government that wanted to sign a pact for closer ties to Russia. I note the British Media has studiously forgotten we and the EU started this mess. -

9 HOURS AGOLets imagine a totally hypothetical situation, one that would never happen. What if Russia wanted to form an alliance with a country about lets say 50 miles off the coast of Florida and base missiles there. How do you think the US would respond to such blatant act of aggression? I wonder how long that country would be punished by the US, 50 plus years maybe? -

8 HOURS AGOTo all those who are afraid of imposing too many sanctions on Russia in case they turn off the gas:
1. we don't currently import gas from Russia
2. we should be building our own long term sustainable energy production instead of importing it anyway -

10 HOURS AGONATO expanding east, stirring trouble in a direct neighbour of Russia and expect Russia not to try and defend their strategic interests!? Our "leaders" truly treat us like children if they think people can't see through this. Provoking Russia like this is madness. If Russia started manipulating and destabilising Mexico, what do you think the US would do!? -

9 HOURS AGOWe started this game by openly supporting a coup of a democratically elected president, I'd say us installing a puppet government violated their sovereignty first. -

9 HOURS AGOIts that time of the year again,Last year we were going to go and help "freedom fighters " in Syria and it turned out that these freedom fighters were anything but freedom fighter.
Not a word said about how wrong these so called experts/politician were and here we are again telling the world how we are going to sort out its problems.
And yet at home we don't know how safe out kids are. -

9 HOURS AGONATO Countries & Russia should be combining their powers to defeat the Muslim extremists not fighting amongst themselves.
IS & the rest of the Muslim extremist groups will be loving this infighting. They breed on uncertainty & chaos -

9 HOURS AGOIs the UK ever going to get a Prime minister who isn't an American poodle? Who follows the US president into every conflict at the drop of a hat. It was bad enough with Blair following Bush around the world into war after war! Now we have Scameron doing exactly the same! Ukraine, Russia, Libya, Afghanistan,Syria, Iraq (again!).
Scameron! Get down! There's a good boy, sit. -

8 HOURS AGOI find it naive to say the West started this. Russia would always support the coup in Ukraine due to its "strategic interests", so it was clear what would happen if we stood and watched.
You can argue about the extent of our involvement, but you can't defend Russia's actions - going in and increasing it's territory by force is like something out of the 1800's - it's just not acceptable today. -

10 HOURS AGOMeanwhile the populations of both the USA and the UK are being dragged back to the stone age by greedy, corrupt and controlled 'governments'. All this scapegoating is designed to distract the population from the evil their own governments are doing, nothing else. Economic recovery my *rse. -

7 HOURS AGO"the current Ukrainian conflict is entirely the result of arrogant, out-of-touch EU Bureaucrats pursuing a ruthless expansionist programme."
arrogant and out of touch gives them too much credit - dangerously inept, naive and bumbling are probably more accurate. -

I am not a pro Russian sympathiser.
If you want to free yourself from decades of Western propaganda.
Tell your kids what has happened, but name the sides A and B.
If a child can tell you the side representing the EU, NATO and the US are the aggressors when you think otherwise, then you need to read the emperors new clothes. -

How many revolutions has the USA fermented and financed since the end of World War two?

6 HOURS AGOWest is an easy scapegoat isn't it?
Fighting in Middle East and Ukraine is allegedly the fault of the West. It's not perhaps the people shooting each other?
The West seem to be the only people who show concern for atrocities around the world. Do the Russians or Chinese, or most middle eastern countries care for example? I don't think so.
Russians could have stopped Assad but did they? No. -

8 HOURS AGOI am from the Eastern Ukraine where almost everyone speaks Russian. I live in the UK and just came back from visiting my family there. It stroke me how pro-Ukrainian everyone I know has become. People are very worried of Russia coming to 'protect' them like they did in Donbas. There are Ukrainian flags all around the cities on people's cars and flat windows (I was in Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk). -

And, we need to exit the EU, which had a hand in instigating the current situation in Ukraine, just as we need to exit NATO, whose lead member instigated the current situation in Iraq.
We need to focus on our own borders, not borders of distant foreigners. It's a defence not a world-police force.
