A microbe of Sarin, a splash of Hexamine, a sprinkle of IMPA and 400 litres of Bullshit
Now that it’s formerly acknowledged the rebels had Sarin, the motivations of the peripheral consensus actors appear more insidious.
Namely one in particular, Eliot Higgins aka Brown_Moses hereto referenced as BM. BM has gleaned much of the limelight afforded to him by a media adorning any source that added detail to their narrative they were themselves only able to substantiate through conjecture, supposition and in many cases blatant falsehoods.
As is commonly known by now through manifesting leaks, BM was informed by another on-the-ground character ie Matthew Van Dyke hereto referenced as MVD as far back as May 2013 of the very real possibility that rebels had access to chemical weapons in Aleppo.

The retaliatory position of BM is that the information was unreliable and that he discards information like this all the time. This is curious because up until this information was leaked, MVD has, as he has been for the best part of 3 years in the theater of conflict, a closely followed source of information with regards to FSA movements, events and incidents.
But this does not really get to the heart of the deception.
It is not that BM discarded this information, it’s that BM willfully suppressed the ramification’s of this while he played to the hilt the “no possibility of rebels having Sarin” narrative.
Even while BM contributed to another blog, more purposed as a collaborative effort to investigate the Ghouta massacre, BM never openly entertained the possibility of rebels being in possession of Sarin. On the occasion’s that this was expressed, BM would deride it and in some instances even the person who voiced it. Yet all the time knowing from information received, it was a possibility.
Its important to note that even mainstream media journalists divulge rumors because as anyone who is in the business of conducting an investigation will know, every piece of information however insignificant, even if it is considered unreliable or not directly relevant is logged as it may correlate, connect or help frame another less regarded piece of the puzzle.
When we step back and survey the narrative put forward by the media and framed by BM we see a very clear prerogative.
As we know BM has from the outset unwaveringly pursued the Assad-did-it line. The only conceivable way to underpin this is to project that it was a massive Sarin attack. Even though:
(1) There has been very limited and conflicting samples of Sarin recovered
(2) There was no neuropharmacological evidence of Sarin symptoms displayed in the Ghouta videos. Let me repeat that. It was not there was some limited symptoms displayed …there were ZERO neuropharmacological symptoms displayed. So one might ask, why did the rebels cry “sarin” from the rafters as soon as the attack occurred?
(3) The crime scenes investigated were controlled by the insurgents for six days prior to an investigative team arriving
(4) There have been no recorded mass burials, no accounting for the 1700 or so dead, not even names, no interviews, no custody trail, nothing.
Incidentally, you would think an opposition so proficient in the use of YouTube would have the presence of mind to film at least one mass grieving ceremony. With such a world headline grabbing incident such as this, with so many dead children if only at least to eke out more international empathy. Not to mention, confound the doubters and provide the irreproachable nail-in-the-coffin evidence for the US to bomb Syria. How could the opposition miss a golden opportunity such as this? All these dead children buried. What else could it be? There would be no need for Kerry and his farcical forever infamous high confidence speech.
But I digress. The line has been and shall remain it was a massive Sarin attack.

Contributing to the double-think of this event has been another and final actor in this tale. Dan Kaszeta hereto referenced as DK. DK has marketed himself as an expert in the field of chemical weapons although he appears reticent to reveal any qualifications, even in the field of basic chemistry. [UPDATE: we now know DK has NO academic qualifications in chemistry, although he attended a US Army chemical school for 12 months]. More revealingly to me at least, when one of his theories was technically challenged and refuted in an on-line discussion, he surprised all interested contributors by unexpectedly deciding to no longer participate until he knew the identity of the person who refuted his position. Astonishing.
DK substantiated BM’s storytelling by at first stating that for any adversary to commit such an attack would require the means to produce a ton of sarin (this has subsequently been revised down to 400 litres) [UPDATE:it has now been postulated by scientists this could be as little as 60 litres by mixing the sarin with pH neutral water see footnotes (e)]. The twitterverse has reverberated in concert with the disgorging media diatribe. Terms like Hexamine, DIMP and IMPA have entered the lexicon. But again the important thing here is the seed that was planted is just being further irrigated for your further consumption. After all, how could a rag-tag opposition conceive and engineer a task of this magnitude? It’s too big. It must only be the Regime.
This is perception management 101.
(a) Never address the detail
(b) Never engage with inquisitors
(c) Perpetually reaffirm the postulation “it was a massive Sarin attack”.
This event, horrific as it was portrayed, remains to the discerning eye, unsatisfactorily resolved. The actors BM & DK who could to some degree be considered architects of this yarn are now just passengers as the initial violent din of media distortion subsides, intermittently disrupted by the inevitable, hollow conviction-less misrepresentation .
BM has collected his many videos of munitions that he purports to be the warheads that carried the Sarin. But in the end, all we have is his videos of projectiles and launchers undermined by the UN who found little or no proof to support a massive Sarin attack occurring in a crime scene where the evidence was controlled by the plaintiffs. Not to mention megabytes of video of distressed victims that displayed no collective symptoms attributable to Sarin and, who incredibly have disappeared.
The final UN report conceded that out of the 47 chemical weapons attacks reported, 42 of which were falsely alleged by the UNSC arbiters of obfuscation (US/UK/France), only 5 were credible and of those 5, the victims of 3 of them were Regime.
But the news that scythed through all the machiavelian positioning by the powers that be, was delivered in a evidentiary and condemning address by Russia’s permanent UN representative (see below). Vitaly Churkin confirmed to the world that Mr Sellstrom (UN Head of chemical weapons team) analyzed and did not refute the conclusions of Russia’s investigations into the first reported incident confirming a cottage-industry product carrying a payload of home-made Sarin had been used in a chemical weapon attack in Khan al-Asaal.
And as Brown_Moses will know …that’s in Aleppo
