Hypocrisy of Irish Govt & EU on Ukraine as Russia also pursues 'selfish interests'

ALWAYS REMEMBER

The condition for Ukraine to join NATO would be the expulsion of foreign military bases from Ukrainian territory. That would mean expelling Russia from its historic naval base at Sebastopol

  1. There was a contract between Russia and Ukraine allowing to deploy up to 25,000 Russian troops in Crimea. Russian military bases were always there (since 1991) with permanent deployment of 16,000 troops. Russia paid Ukraine for its military bases till 2021.

After the coup, the number of Russian troops in Crimea was increased from 16,000 to 22,000 that fits the contract limit.
